TURKEY SCHNITZEL | |
4 slices of bread of turkey (about 1 lb.) 2 eggs 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. water 1/2 c. flour 1/2 c. bread crumbs Oil for frying The slices of turkey should look like a medium size steak, 3/4 inch thick. Pound the meat on both sides to flatten into 1/2 inch thickness. Rub salt, pepper and garlic powder into the meat. Beat the eggs together with the water. Put the flour on a flat plate, the bread crumbs on another. In a big heavy skillet, heat the oil. Dip meat into the flour, the eggs, then the bread crumbs. The slices should be perfectly covered on each side. Fry the schnitzels for about 4-5 minutes (350 degrees in electric fry pan) on both sides until golden brown. Serve warm with mashed potatoes or rice. |
