1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix butter, brown sugar, egg yolk and vanilla until smooth. Add flour and salt. Press into the bottom of a cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes. Frost; sprinkle with nuts (while warm). Cut into squares while warm.

Frosting:

2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. melted chocolate or chocolate syrup
confectioners sugar, sifted

Cream butter and chocolate. Add sugar until frosting is desired consistency.

Yield: 1 1/2 dozen cookies.
