NEVER FAIL DIVINITY CANDY 
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup light syrup
1/2 cup hot water
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 egg whites
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix sugar, syrup, water, and salt. Boil until sugar melts, then cook without stirring to hard ball (250°F degrees on Candy Thermometer).

Beat 2 egg whites until stiff. Pour sugar mixture into egg. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until it holds shape. Add nuts if desired. Pour into greased 9x13 pan.
