GRANNY'S OATMEAL CRISPIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick cooking oatmeal
9 oz. butterscotch chips

Cream shortening and sugars. Add the eggs and vanilla. Sift together the dry ingredients and add. Then add the oatmeal and butterscotch chips last. Mix well and form into long rolls. Chill dough thoroughly. Slice 1/4 inch thick. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 5 dozen.
