AUNT BERTHA'S "BY CRACKY" BARS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 - 10 whole graham crackers

Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Add milk and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and stir into eggs and milk. Pour 1/3 of batter into small bowl and add melted chocolate and nuts. Spread into 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Layer graham crackers on top. Mix chocolate chips into remaining batter and spread over crackers. Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool, then cut into squares. These bars get a little dry if over cooked.
