COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1/2 lb. butter
4 eggs
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla (can use lemon)

Oven at 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar in mixer. Add eggs, one at a time, alternating with flour and water With the last bit of flour add baking powder and extract. Bake in large tube pan or loaf pan. The pan should be well greased and floured. Place cake in cold oven, set temperature at 350 degrees and bake for 65 minutes.
