MY FAVORITE COLD OVEN POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 sticks butter
5 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 tsp. lemon flavoring

Blend or cream butter and shortening together, then gradually add sugar. Add 1 egg at a time and blend, then add flour and milk alternately. Add flavoring last. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes (or until done). BE SURE OVEN IS COLD BEFORE STARTING.
