FRENCH FRIED TURNIPS 
Wash turnips, cut off ends. Slice turnips as if slicing green tomatoes. Beat 1 egg, dip turnips into egg. Dip into flour mixture of flour, salt, and pepper. Heat cooking oil to 350 degrees. Add battered turnips to hot oil. When floating to top of oil take turnips out, lay on paper towel to drain excess oil. Ready to serve while hot.
