MONKEY BREAD | |
1 yeast cake in sm. amt. of warm water Add 1/3 cup sugar, set aside. Combine: 1 1/2 tbsp. shortening 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt Cool to lukewarm. Add 1 egg and yeast mix. Stir in 2 cups flour, beat well. Add 1 1/2 cups more flour. Grease top, set in refrigerator covered with damp cloth. Let rise several hours, remove from refrigerator, roll to 1/4 inch, cut in 2 inch squares, dip each square in melted butter. Drop in tube pan, let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. |
