MONKEY BREAD | |
1 (3/5 oz.) cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 to 1 1/2 c. milk 3 eggs 1 tbsp. salt 3 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 sticks butter Mix yeast with part of the milk until dissolved. Add eggs and beat. Then mix in dry ingredients. Add rest of milk little at a time, add butter; mix until blended. Knead the dough. Let rise 1 1/2 hours or until double. Knead again; let rise a second time 30-40 minutes. Roll dough into log shape, cut into 28 equal sized pieces. Stand on sides in angel food or bundt pan forming circle. Lightly dust top with flour and butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 375 degrees until brown. |
