E Z HICKORY NUT CAKE 
White cake mix
3/4 c. buttermilk (or sour milk)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. hickory nuts (chopped)

Make cake according to package directions but add water to the buttermilk (or sour milk) to make 1 1/3 cup (instead of the 1 1/3 cup water indicated on the package directions). Add vanilla and 1 cup chopped nuts. Put in two 9 inch layer pans or a 9 by 13 pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:

1 c. milk
5 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook milk and flour together until thick. Let cool. Beat remaining ingredients together until fluffy. Add flour mixture and beat 5 minutes. Add remaining 1 cup hickory nuts.
