I made this for friends who keep kosher so I made a vegetarian version; veg. stock and no meat. Everyone loved it. I wish I had made more!

Try subbing the regular vinegar with a red or white wine vinegar. It gives it a bit more bold taste.

I'm standing over a bowl of this right now and it is pure perfection. Just what my family needs because we all have colds. I substituted pork for chicken and used the broth from the boiling of one large boneless chop. Excellent!

First time ever making, my wife loves hot n sour soup. Very easy and I could not believe it was even better than the resturant and she loved it. Also now that I have all the spices it will be much more economical to make at home.

I really liked this!!! This was my 1st attempt and my boyfriend is a big fan!!! I also put more chilli paste in. My boyfriend and I agreed it tasted better before the sesame oil. Will def. make again - the sesame oil.

I love hot n sour soup especially if I have one of those really bad sinus or chest colds. This is the easiest recipe and I actually tripled the ingredients because I wanted to be able to freeze some and have leftovers. I added a bit more of the chili paste because I like the heat.

This recipe is fabulous! So easy to make! I didn't have shredded chicken or pork, so I took some turkey sausages out of their casings and cooked them, then added them instead of the shredded meat! It really does taste like it's right from the restaurant. Love it!

Even without all the ingredients on hand, I made this in a flash. The base... broth, garlic chili paste, soy sauce, and vinegar, make a warming, satisfying lunch because it has great flavor. Thank you for this recipe!
