SNICKERDOODLES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (soft)
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. ground cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter, shortening and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.

Mix 3 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon. Roll balls in mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet. Yield: 6 dozen cookies.
