Will using milk chocolate chips instead of semi sweet make a big difference in taste?

I'm so glad I found this recipe as I lost my only copy and my daughter has been hounding me to let her & her friend make some so tonight guess what !!! They can make it!! YEH!!!

I made this tonight for my fiances family and myself and it was amazing! I used a whole bag of semi-sweet chips, 1 cup of peanut butter and 1/2 cup of butter (parkay is amazing) and i did not add the vanilla and it was the best puppy chow i have ever made oh and i added stick pretzels, not alot, but about 2 handfuls, mixed with regular chex! It was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few months ago my friend told me to try this stuff...IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! When she told me what it was i kinda giggled to myself. Puppy chow?? Thats a little strange but this stuff is ADDICTIVE!!!! I make it almost every night! No lie.

For Christmas, add Christmas sprinkles, put in small santa tins and call it reindeer chow! :) So yummy.
Can be left out for Santa and his four-legged pals on Christmas Eve along with his cookies!

Can you make it without Peanut Butter? Would that still work?

Yes you can make it without peanut butter. I make it every year instead of peanut butter I use white chocolate over the mixture. I also add pretzels, cheerios and M&M's to the mixture, this is da bomb!

Another question about how long it lasts... I'm shipping to some friends and family, if I freeze it ahead of time and it thaws, can it be put back in the freezer again after they get it?

I actually don't even use butter. Just melt milk chocolate chips and add about 1-2 tbsp. of peanut butter. melt and then add rice chex, then shake up in a bag of powdered sugar!

I totally agree that the butter is not necessary. The recipe I use from a Crispix box doesn't use butter. Chex placed recipe called Muddy Buddies on their product; this recipe contained butter. I prefer the Crispix recipe, the cereal choice & no butter makes a much better snack mix!

This was a great stress relief for me and my mom! Try this recipe for when ever you need to relax! just sit on the couch and PIG OUT!!!!! You will have fun making it but also eating it!
