GERMAN CHOCOLATE SAUCEPAN
BROWNIES
 
1/2 c. butter
1 (4 oz.) bar sweet cooking chocolate, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

2 tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. corn syrup
2 tbsp. milk
1 c. coconut
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans or walnuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8 or 9 inch square pan. In medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Add sugar and vanilla; blend well. Add eggs; beat well. Add flour, baking powder and salt; mix well. Spread in greased pan. Bake for 10-20 minutes. Combine topping ingredients and drop by teaspoonfuls over warm brownies. Broil 4 inches from heat for 1-2 minutes. Cool.
