DATE AND NUT MERINGUE DESSERT 
3 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 c. graham cracker crumbs
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites until stiff and add sugar slowly while beating. Fold in crumbs and baking powder. Add dates, nuts and vanilla. Butter pie plate. Bake in 325 degree oven for 30 minutes.

Dissolve 3 tablespoons brown sugar in heavy cream. Whip and frost cooled pie.
