Jello Shots

 AJ (United States) says:
Everclear is a white/clear grain alcohol, 151- and 190-proof; which are 75.5 and 95 percent alcohol, respectively. In contrast, other hard liquors such as rum and vodka are typically 80 to 120 proof, which contain 40 to 60 percent alcohol. Due to its high alcohol content, Everclear is illegal, unavailable, or difficult to find in many areas.

Everclear should only be used to make Kahlua.

I'm gonna try Jagar and Patron Tequila. Not together of course. I hope it works.

Everclear is great to use. Just got to watch how you mix it. In some states certain proofs of Everclear are illegal. I use 190 proof.

Yeah Everclear is basically moonshine which is far beyond the potency of any vodka or rum you can LEGALLY buy in a liquor store. Moonshine is illegal to purchase so unless you have some connections in KY, Lousiana, GA etc you'd better just stick to what you can get in stores lol. Remember, you just want to get a slight buzz you don't want to have your stomach pumped in the er from alcohol poisoning.

My goal in making jello shots is to make them tasty not get people hammered. I think of yummy summer coktails and come up with recipes to mimic them. I never use more than 1 cup of alcohol per box. If its schnapps, I'll use 1 cup. The stronger the alcohol the less the amount of alcohol. If using vodka, I would use 1/2 cup flavored vodka and rest water or juice.

Best jello shots I''ve ever had, cherry or strawberry jello , vodka, topped with whipped creme, and a maraschino cherry soaked in vodka (half a day) on top.....just like going to the DQ but for adults.:)

My friend came up with an awesome idea for Jello shots. After making your favorite recipe, use oral syriges and suck the liquid into it. Freeze like you would with any recipe. This is a very low mess an cool idea.

I am one to believe that tanguray is one of the better gins. Tangpur is best to use with lime jello because of it's lime after taste.

Everclear is a grain alcohol with essentially no taste. It can be lethal in large quantities and should never be taken straight. It is a great alcohol to use for times when you are making big, pre-mixed batches of cocktails such as homemade Kahlua or jungle juice. Not one to be used on a drink by drink basis, but perfectly fine in big batches. At $15 a bottle and it makes 10 gallons of cocktail, its the only way to go.
