OH MY GOD, these cupcakes came out awesome! I used the recipe for a s'mores cupcake, and they turned out great. So quick and easy and really moist. Thank you!!

I was looking for a basic chocolate cupcake recipe & after mostly positive reviews, I tried this one. Based on comments, I added 1 tbsp. of vanilla & used 1/2 c. cocoa but otherwise followed the rest of the recipe. I was not thrilled with the result. The cupcake was salty & sunk in slightly in the middle. The texture was not desirable. I was making minis so after the first pan of 12, I added 2 tbsp. chocolate syrup & 2 eggs. The remainder of the batch was much, much better. They rose better, had a nice shiny finish & the flavor was richer and just overall better...

Such an quick and easy recipe. My house was invaded by kids last night. Six growing adolescent boys including my own to be exact. After a big dinner, I made these cupcakes for the very first time. The batter yielded 12. they were gone in less than five minutes. I was very lucky to get one. Great recipe thank you for sharing.

This recipe is definitely a keeper!! Substituted water with milk and added Hershey's syrup for extra chocolaty flavour - super moist cupcakes! Baking time 20 minutes, anything more will make them dry.

I added mayo and a chocolate snack size pudding pack and 2 eggs. Left out the vinegar. The batter tasted delicious.

I've made them this afternoon, I followed the exact recipe, except for milk I used instead of water, they were moist and delicious, I made 2 dozen mini's (done in about 10-12 minutes) and 10 regular size (in the oven for about 15-17 minutes).

I used a Espresso/chocolate whipped cream with a chocolate drizzle on top!!!

Definitely the best!!!

Thanks for this recipe, a keeper for sure.

I've made the batter and am now waiting for them to bake. I tasted the batter and wasn't amazed by the bitter taste, but I'm waiting patiently and hoping the above comments are an indication of a brighter outcome. --- Not as sweet as I like them, but 3 others give it a thumbs up. I'd recommend for chocolate fanatics, use sweet coco powder.

I have been trying recipe after recipe to come up with a chocolate cupcake recipe my family would be happy with. I have always baked box mixes and wanted to find the perfect "from scratch" recipe. SUCCESS!!! Thank you so much, this is wonderful, and my husband AND three grown children love it!!! 20 minutes will do it, btw, and they'll be perfect!!

I am 11 and I loved making this recipe. It is simple and delicious. Even though I used this recipe for my cake pops, my family who doesn't eat chocolate was fighting over it. :)

My students really enjoyed this recipe! Almost all of them 6-8th grade were successful in baking these cupcakes. If you follow this exactly and MEASURE EXACTLY... they will come out moist... While it says 25 minutes, I had all my students start checking after 10 MINUTES! It did not take 25 minutes to cook.

Very tasty vegan cupcakes. We used this recipe in our own mock middle school 'cupcake wars'

Excellent recipe! I've made so many modifications to it, it works as an amazing base. I needed a recipe that didn't require milk because I didn't have any at the time. I used baking chocolate instead of cocoa powder. I usually use butter instead and toss in a few chocolate chips. I also exclude the vinegar. Add a little bit of chocolate icing to the top and they're wonderful! Not too sweet, but sweet enough and chocolatey. I even tossed in a banana today.

Excellent base, makes 12 perfect cupcakes.
