“FROSTY STRAWBERRY SQUARES” IS IN:

FROSTY STRAWBERRY SQUARES 
CRUMBS:

1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Stir together first four ingredients; spread evenly in shallow baking pan and bake for 20 minutes in 350°F oven, stirring occasionally.

Sprinkle 2/3 of the crumbs in 9x13-inch baking pan.

FRUIT:

2 egg whites
1 cup sugar
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries*
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup whipped cream, whipped

Note: May substitute fresh strawberries with 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen berries (partially thawed) and reduce sugar to 2/3 cup.

Combine egg whites, sugar, berries and lemon juice in a large bowl. With electric beater, beat at high speed to stiff peaks, about 10 minutes.

Fold in whipped cream. Spoon over crumbs; top with reserved crumbs.

Freeze six hours or overnight.

Cut in 10 or 12 squares. Serve with whole strawberries, if desired.
