FROSTY STRAWBERRY SQUARES -
FROZEN
 
1 c. flour
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. English walnuts

Stir together and spread evenly in 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove 1/3 of crumbs from pan and save. 2/3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. lemon juice 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen berries, partially thawed 1 c. creamed whipped or Cool Whip

Combine egg whites, sugar, berries and lemon juice in large bowl and beat at high speed until forms stiff peaks, about 10 minutes. Fold in whipped cream. Spoon over crumbs, top with remaining crumbs. Freeze 6 hours or overnight.

APPLE DESSERT

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. finely chopped apples
1 c. nuts

Cream sugar and butter. Beat egg. Add to creamed mixture. Mix dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Add apples and nuts. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. cream of evaporated milk

Cook 5 minutes. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over each serving. Be sure topping is warm.
