ROLLED BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. butter (2 sticks)
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Beat in egg. Combine flour, salt and vanilla and butter mixture. Chill dough 3 to 4 hours before rolling. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut in desired shapes using cookie cutters. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until slightly colored.
