GLAZED CRISP SUGAR COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, piled softly
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, well beaten until thick

Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Cream butter and vanilla until butter is softened. Add 1 cup sugar gradually, creaming until fluffy. Add beaten eggs in thirds, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients in fourths to cream mixture. Chill dough 1 hour at least. Grease cookie sheets. Shape small balls and dip one side in white sugar and put 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Flatten each ball with a glass. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
