“CHEESE STRAWS” IS IN:

CHEESE STRAWS 
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/ tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cold water
paprika, for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Mix and sift together dry ingredients. Cut in butter and cheese until dough resembles coarse meal. Add water and cheese until dough resembles coarse meal. Mix well. Roll out 1/8-inch thick on a lightly floured board. Sprinkle lightly with paprika.

Cut in strips 5-inches long by 1/2-inch wide. Twist each strip into a spiral.

Bake on a greased pan at 425°F for to 10 minutes.

Makes about 4 dozen.
