CANDY CANE COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter (better if butter is used)
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
Green food coloring
Red food coloring

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and powder. Add flour. Mix well. Divide in half and add green coloring to half, red to other half. Make 30 balls of each color.

Chill balls 30-60 minutes. Roll each ball into 5 inch rope. Use one red and one green; roll (easy) together. Shape as candy cane. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes on ungreased sheet. Makes 30 canes.
