APPLE CUSTARD BREAD PUDDING | |
4 slices bread, cut into four pieces 2 small tart apples, grated 1 tbsp. vanilla 2 eggs, separated 1/4 c. melted butter 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. milk 1/4 tsp. nutmeg Beat egg yolks with sugar; add melted butter, milk, nutmeg, vanilla and apples. Place 1/2 bread in pan. Sprinkle 1/2 raisins. Repeat bread and raisins. Pour mixture over bread and bake in 350°F oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Before completely done, beat egg whites and 1/4 cup sugar and place on top of pudding. Continue to bake until brown. |
