YAMS & APPLES 
2 or 3 yams
1 or 2 Granny Smith apples per yam
Brown sugar to taste
Cinnamon to taste
butter to taste

Peel and slice yams. Start cooking them in pot with some water. Meanwhile, peel, core and quarter apples. Put on top of yams. Simmer, covered until mashable, about 45 minutes. mash with some of the cooking water left in the pot, some brown sugar, cinnamon and butter. Put in serving dish and add a little more brown sugar, butter and cinnamon on top.
