CARAMEL CORN IN A BAG
(MICROWAVE)
 
2 microwave bags of popcorn or 2 large bowls popped popcorn
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. light Karo syrup
1 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Place popped corn in brown paper grocery bag. it should come up to the first fold.

Put sugar, syrup and butter in microwaveable dish and cook 2 minutes on high. Stir then cook 1 more minute on high. Add vanilla and baking soda, whip until frothy, then pour over popcorn in bag. Seal bag top by rolling down the top.

Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Shake the bag. Repeat by cooking for 30 seconds 2 to 3 more times, shaking the bag in between until popcorn is well coated. Put popcorn into bowl(s) toss the bag!

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

I make this same recipe, however, instead or popped corn I use plain or buttered "corn puffs" purchased from the store. The caramel corn just melts in your mouth.

This recipe I do all of the time. I would recommend to cut the butter amount in half because it is really buttery other wise.
