HICKORY NUT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
3 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts

PENUCHE FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, beat 2 minutes. Mix dry ingredients, mix well. Stir vanilla and nuts in. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.

Melt butter and add brown sugar. Boil 2 minutes. Add milk, bring to boil, beat in sugar and vanilla. (This is a glaze to pour over cake.)
