OKRA AND TOMATOES 
1 lb. okra, sliced
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. chopped sweet pepper
1/4 c. bacon drippings or cooking oil
1/2 c. water
1 (No. 303) can peeled tomatoes, chopped fine
2 bay leaves, broken
Garlic powder
Red pepper
Salt and black pepper

Saute okra in baking drippings on low heat for about 30 minutes or until okra is not slimy. Add onions and cook for about 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Cook for 30 minutes or until done.
