PIZZA SAUCE 
3 tbsp. olive or salad oil
3/4 c. chopped onion
4 cans (8 oz. size) tomato sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dried basil leaves
1 tbsp. dried oregano leaves
1 1/2 tsp. finely chopped garlic
1/2 tsp. black pepper

Saute onion in hot for 5 minutes. Add tomato sauce, sugar, basil, oregano, garlic and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer covered on low heat for 1 hour. Stir occasionally. Remove from heat, let cool to luke warm. Freezes well.
