POPPYSEED POUND CAKE | |
2 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/4 c. butter, room temperature 5 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 3/4 c. milk 1/4 c. brandy 1/4 c. poppy seeds 1 1/2 c. nuts (pecans) Beat together sugar and butter, add eggs one at a time, add vanilla. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk and brandy. Add poppy seeds and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 25 minutes. Cool 20 minutes and sprinkle with powdered sugar. |
