“HAM AND CHEESE STRATA” IS IN:

HAM AND CHEESE STRATA 
12 slices white bread
3/4 lbs. sharp process American cheese sliced or grated
1 (10 oz) package frozen broccoli, chopped (optional)
2 c. finely diced ham
6 slightly beaten eggs
3½ c. evaporated milk
2 tbsp. instant minced onion
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt

Using a donut cutter, cut 12 donuts and holes from white bread and set aside. Fit scraps of bread in bottom of 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Place cheese over a layer of bread. Add a layer of broccoli, then ham. Arrange donuts on top.

Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hrs. or overnight. Bake uncovered in slow oven at 375°F for 55 minutes.

For an attractive finish, sprinkle the top with shredded cheese 5 minutes before the end of baking time.

Let stand 10 minutes until firm before serving. (Dunk donuts in liquid before placing on top of casserole for 1 minute only).
