BARBECUE PORK CHOPS 
6 lean pork chops
2 tbsp. shortening
Salt and pepper to taste
1 green pepper, sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 bottle chili sauce

Brown pork chops on both sides in shortening in skillet. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Season. Place slice of green pepper on each pork chop. Place onion slice inside green pepper ring, combine chili sauce with one cup of water in bowl, place over chops. Cover, reduce heat, simmer for 25 to 30 minutes or until chops are tender. Yield: 6 servings.
