ALICE'S SPANISH COFFEE CAKE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. salad oil

Mix above ingredients thoroughly; remove 1/2 cup of this crumb mixture to use as topping, add 1/3 cup nuts. 1 tsp. baking powder 1 c. buttermilk 1 egg

Mix soda and baking powder with crumb mixture. Mix beaten egg and buttermilk, add half to crumb mixture, beat two minutes, add other half and beat two minutes. Pour into 2 (6 x 8) pans or 1 (9 x 15) pan, sprinkle with topping mixture and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
