FRESH PEACH CRISP 
1 c. unsifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt, optional
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
4 c. sliced peaches, fresh
1/2 lemon juice & grated rind
2 tbsp. water

Mix flour, sugar, nutmeg, salt and cinnamon. Cut in butter until coarse crumbs are formed. Put peaches in 9 inch glass or ceramic pie plate. Mix in lemon rind, juice and water. Cover with crumb mixture; pat down so it sticks to fruit. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer. Serve warm with cream or ice cream. Makes 6-8 servings.
