CARAWAY - HERB BATTER BREAD 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk, scalded
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. warm water
3 tbsp. chopped parsley
1 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
1 1/2 tsp. tarragon leaves
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tbsp. caraway seeds

Mix first 4 ingredients; cool slightly. In large bowl, sprinkle yeast over water; stir until dissolved. Combine all ingredients; beat vigorously for 2-3 minutes. Cover and let rise until double, about 45 minutes.

Pour into lightly greased 1 1/2 quart casserole; let rise for 15 minutes. Bake, uncovered, in preheated 370 degree oven for 55-65 minutes. Turn out of casserole and let cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
