CUSHAW PIE 
2/3 c. white sugar
1/3 c. brown sugar
2 c. cooked cushaw
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 eggs
2 c. milk, scalded
3 tbsp. butter

Add sugar, salt and spices to cushaw. Add lightly beat eggs, then milk and butter. Pour into uncooked pie shell. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce oven to 350 degrees and continue baking until a toothpick comes out clean.

Good but not as good as pumpkin but grandma loves it! I had to add 1 tablespoon of flour. Looks really soupy but does thicken when cooked!

This is a general comment as I have not tried the recipe. My mother made cushaw pies for Thanksgiving dinner, and they always tasted better than ANY style, type, or variety of pumpkin pie that I have ever tasted, no matter who cooked it. In my opinion, cushaw is much more flavorful than the traditional pumpkin.
