ROUND STEAK ROSE 
3 to 3 1/2 lbs. round steak
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. cooking oil
2 c. rose wine
1 c. water
1/2 pkg. onion soup mix
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
8 oz. fresh mushrooms
2 tbsp. snipped parsley

Cut steak into strips 3 to 4 inches long. Combine flour, salt, and pepper over meat. Brown strips in oil. Combine wine, water, and soup mix and add to meat. Cover and cook slowly for 45 minutes. Combine and add tomato paste, 1/2 cup water, and brown sugar. Continue cooking for 20 minutes or until meat is tender. Add cheese and mushrooms and cook slowly for 10 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley and serve over rice or noodles.
