BANANA CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. mashed ripe bananas
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs one at a time. Mix flour and baking soda together. Add flour mix alternately with bananas; add nuts. Beat until batter is smooth. Makes 2 layers. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes.

FROSTING:

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook flour and milk until thick; cool. Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy-cream. Add cooled flour mixture, adding 1 tablespoon at a time. Frost top and middle. Keep cake in refrigerator until serving time - it will get soft at room temperature. Tastes like whipped cream frosting.
