BUTTER PECAN TURTLE COOKIES | |
BUTTER PECAN CRUST: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter 1 cup whole pecans, halved Preheat oven to 350°F. In bowl combine flour, brown sugar and butter. Mix at medium speed. Put into 13x9x2-inch pan. Sprinkle pecans over unbaked crust. TURTLE TOPPING: 1/2 cup brown sugar 2/3 cup butter 1 cup chocolate chips In heavy pan combine sugar and butter. Cook over heat until mixture boils. Boil for 30 to 60 seconds, stirring constantly. Pour over pecans. Bake at 350°F for 18 to 22 minutes. Remove from oven when hot and sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Swirl chips slightly to leave a marbled effect. Allow to cool then cut into bars. Submitted by: Sharron Wilson |
