SOUR DOUGH STARTER | |
1 c. milk 1 c. unbleached flour Place milk in glass jar and let set for 24 hours. Add flour, mix well. Let stand for 3 to 5 days (until bubbling is over), then store covered in refrigerator. Always use glass, wood or plastic utensils, starter will not work if metal is used. SOUR DOUGH BREAD: 2 c. sour dough starter 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. oil 1 tsp. salt About 1 c. flour Mix all ingredients and enough flour to form a kneadable dough. Knead about 5 minutes, flour loaf and put in a greased bread loaf pan to rise in a warm place. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. |
