BROWN SUGAR COOKIES WITH BUTTER
FROSTING

2/3 cup butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 cup evaporated milk
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
walnut halves, for garnish

Cream butter and brown sugar until light. Add eggs; beat well. Add vanilla and vinegar to milk. Sift dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Fold in chopped walnuts.

Drop by tablespoonfuls, about 2-inches apart, on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F until delicately browned, about 15 minutes, or until firm to the touch.

Cool on wire rack. Frost with Brown Butter Frosting and garnish with walnut halves.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
