BANANA SPLIT CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
1 can crushed pineapple
1 or 2 pkgs. (16 oz.) frozen strawberries
1 lg. box instant vanilla pudding
1 sm. box vanilla wafers
1 lg. tub Cool Whip or 2 pkgs. Dream Whip
1 sm. jar maraschino cherries
1 sm. pkg. (4 1/2 oz.) chopped walnuts
2 lg. bananas
Hershey's syrup

Mix cake mix according to instructions on package. Take out 3/4 of the batter and bake it in a 9x13 inch pan. Take out of pan and cool.

Drain juice off crushed pineapple and mix with 3 tablespoons of cornstarch in a saucepan. Add crushed pineapple and cook until thickened. Strawberries are cooked the same as pineapple.

Pour thickened pineapple in bottom of cake pan. Replace the cake on top of pineapple. On to of cake put a layer of vanilla wafers.

Mix pudding according to package directions and put on top of wafers. Slice bananas, layered, on top of pudding. Next put thickened strawberries on top of bananas. Put Cool Whip over top and sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Put a cherry in each section, use approximately 30. Pour Hershey's syrup over each serving if desired.
