POTATOES AU GRATIN 
3 oz. Cheddar cheese in 1 inch cubes
2 med. garlic cloves, peeled
2 1/2 c. light cream
4 lg. potatoes, sliced
1 med. onion, chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/2 (approximately) bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Butter a 2-quart baking dish. Put onion and garlic in saucepan with cream and salt. Add potatoes and bring to a boil. Remove saucepan from heat and spread potato mixture into prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese and small amount of bread crumbs. Bake 25 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
