GOLDEN RAISIN BUNS | |
1 c. water 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. flour 4 eggs 1/2 c. Golden Raisins (plumped), place in hot water for 5 minutes. LEMON FROSTING: 1 tbsp. butter, melted 1 1/2 tbsp. heavy cream 1 c. 10x sugar 1/2 tsp. lemon flavor 1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine water, butter, sugar and salt in saucepan, bring to a boil. Add flour all at once, then over low heat beat with wooden spoon about 1 minute or until mixture leaves sides of pan and forms a smooth thick dough. Remove from heat. Beat about 2 minutes to cool slightly. Add eggs one at a time until mixture has satiny sheen. Stir in raisins. Drop heaping tablespoons about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes until doubled, golden and firm. Melt butter, stir in heavy cream. Remove from heat. Stir in 10x sugar. Stir in lemon and vanilla. Cool buns while still warm spread frosting on top and sides of buns. |
