STEWED SQUASH 
6-8 med. lg. yellow squash
1 med. onion
4 tbsp. butter (no substitute)
1/2 c. milk, half and half or cream
1/4-1/2 c. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

Wash and slice squash into a large saucepan. Add sliced onions and enough water to cover. Boil until tender. Drain well. Return pan to low heat and add butter, milk and sugar. Using a hand mixer or potato masher, mix just until chopped and looks lumpy. Salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm until ready to serve.
