CABBAGE STEW 
2 lg. heads of cabbage
4 lg. potatoes
1 lg. onion
1 stick butter
2 lbs. lean hamburger meat
2 lg. cans whole tomatoes
Lots of salt & pepper

Brown and drain hamburger meat and set aside. Cut cabbage, potatoes and onion in large pieces. Place in large pot and cover with water; add salt and pepper. Place stick of butter on top, cover and cook until almost tender. Do not drain. Add hamburger and tomatoes (cut up) and simmer until all ingredients are good and hot. Stir frequently. Great with cornbread.
