HAWAIIAN SPARERIBS 
2 sides of spareribs, cut into serving pieces
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. catsup
1 (9 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
1 tbsp. soy sauce

In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in vinegar, catsup, pineapple and soy sauce. Cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Arrange a layer of ribs in roasting pan. Cover with part of pineapple mixture. Add another layer of ribs and top with remaining sauce. Cover tightly (with top or aluminum foil). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. This recipe can be multiplied to fit the number of guests. Serves 4.
