Two of my daughters have egg allergies, and it was disheartening to watch their friends eat cookies, when they couldn't. I'm so thankful I stumbled on this recipe. If you could have seen the looks on their faces when they ate a cookie for the first time. It brought such joy and tears to me. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe!

Oh my goodness, this recipe has me pleasantly surprised! These cookies are delicious, probably some of the best sugar cookies I've ever had. Low on food in the household, I tried looking for a good sugar cookie recipe that didn't require eggs, and wanted something basic. This was perfect. However, since I did not have baking soda, I subst. 3 tsp. of baking powder, and I added a little vanilla extract to enhance the flavor. Thank you for posting!

GREAT recipe. I used gluten free flour and used 3.5 cups flour and added 1 tsp. vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp. almond extract both gluten free. These turned our fabulous with the alterations.

The cookies came out much better then I anticipated. I added a splash of vanilla extract, a dash of cinnamon and some orange zest. I added the orange zest and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and the cinnamon to the flour mixture. It came out pretty good. My girlfriend seemed to think they were decent and that is huge considering her pickiness.

The recipe makes it sound so easy, I ran out of eggs, and I promised my drama club some snack. But is the dough supposed to be so dry???

 Cooks.com replies:
Hi Shanda,

Flour absorbs more or less liquid according to the environment it's stored in and many other factors. You should always adjust any recipe in baking if it seems a little dry because your flour may have been stored in a dry place or for too long. If the mixture seems too dry, add a small amount of water or milk at a time. If the environment is high in humidity, then you might need to add a little more flour if your dough is too sticky.

Hope this helps,

Mmm is amazing, also though if you add 1/4c of powdered french vanilla or any flavored coffee creamer to it. Realllllly good!

Loved the thin buttery recipe with no egg! Remembered PTO needed cookies and was w/o egg in the house-cut the recipe in 1/2 and they are great! Will make again!
