OATMEAL RICE KRISPIE COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. Rice Krispies
2 c. rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut (if desired)
2 eggs
2 c. flour
pinch of salt

Cream shortening and the sugars, then add eggs and beat. Add sifted flour, baking powder and soda together. Mix well, then add Rice Krispies and vanilla. Then add the oatmeal and coconut and mix.

Make small balls; flatten with a floured fork. Place on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in oven at 325°F.
